ANNOUNCEMENT
THE GOVERNMENT OF SIERRA LEONE (GOSL) AND THE NATIONAL COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTRY (NaCEF)
PUBLIC DISCLOSURE
The Government of Sierra Leone (GOSL) has through the National Commission on Environment and Forestry (NaCEF) received a grant from the World Bank for the Protection of Wildlife and Conservation of Sierra Leone’s Biodiversity in some Protected Area sites under the Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Project (WPBCP)
The proposed protected sites include:
- Western Area Peninsular Reserve and Guma Trail;
- Loma Mountains and Tingi Hills
- Outamba Kilimi National Park (OKNP)
- Kangari Hills
- Gola Forest Reserve and Tiwai Island
A team of consultants has prepared documents which are now ready for Public Disclosure in accordance with World Bank requirements.
These documents include:
- Environmental Assessment
- Resettlement Policy Framework
- Process Framework
The documents which are accessible to the public are at the Office of the Executive Commissioner, NaCEF, Youyi Building, Freetown; Provincial Secretary’s Office, Kenema (East) and Makeni (North); and District Council Offices in Kenema, Kabala, Bombali and Tonkolili Districts.
The detailed description of the project will be made available to the public during disclosure in the various regions.
